From soccer to frisbee, there are endless possibilities at Abbott Park. It is an 11-acre park in Centennial, Colorado, and has a playground, 2 multipurpose fields, a baseball field, a basketball court, and a shelter. We’ll cover everything there is to know about this park.
Karina Cerasoli's video shows a beautiful time lapse of the clouds above the park.
We’ll start off with parking. There’s a parking lot off of East Otero Circle (next to the basketball court) with about 24 spaces and a handicapped space. There’s another parking lot at the end of South High Street with 9 spots and a handicapped spot.
There is also street parking along East Nichols Avenue and East Otero Circle.
The baseball field is on the southern side of Abbott Park. Each dugout has a bench and shade covers. Unfortunately, there are no bleachers for parents, so they will need to bring their own chairs or stand. There is some shade from trees. There is also no outfield fence, so this field is likely meant for younger ages.
Multipurpose Field #1 is next to the ballfield. Multipurpose Field #2 is next to the playground and basketball court. Field #2 is a little larger than Field #1.
Typically, there are painted lines and goalposts for the soccer fields, but sports like football and lacrosse can also be played.
The porta potty is next to the larger parking lot (off of East Otero Circle). It’s only there for part of the year, so they probably take it away during the winter when there are few people at the park.
The basketball court is next to the playground and has 2 hoops. There are also painted lines for free throws and 3-pointers, but the court is pretty narrow.
The sidewalks are a total of 0.41 miles and make for a nice short walk. The sidewalks go around the entire park.
One review says, "Fun clean park with an above average baseball field and 2 dugouts. Nice grass soccer field and goals and a walking path around the park. Limited parking near the kids playground, though."
Abbott Park Playground
There’s a shade shelter with 4 picnic tables under it, and a couple of benches around the playground. Also, there are drinking fountains, barbeque grills, and dog bag dispensers.
There are 2 traditional swings, 2 bucket swings for young children, and the playground has wood chips (wear some shoes!).
Abbott Park Playground has 2 separate playgrounds for children with different skill and age levels. There’s a 4-person seesaw here.
The larger playground has a rope wall to climb, a swirly slide, monkey bars, 2 regular slides, a tunnel, jungle gym equipment, and games like tic-tac-toe. There are also some stairs and ladders.
The smaller playground has a couple of slides, a tunnel, a slide, games, and more.
