Bega Park is a small, 1-acre park in Downtown Littleton, Colorado. It’s a relaxing place to spend some time or eat lunch. In this blog, we’ll talk all about this park. If you want to enjoy a larger park with multipurpose fields, a baseball field, and a fishing pond, Bowles Grove Pond is only a mile away.
You can see in the video above that people love to play music in this park. There are many concerts throughout the year, so go see one!
The best place to park is in the parking lot next to Chase Bank and Main Street Apartments. The lot is at the intersection of West Alamo Avenue and South Prince Street. If that parking lot is full, there is just one south of there; parking fees do apply, though.
There are a couple of sidewalks in the park that are 400 feet long. They will take you through trees and shade, which is why this park is so nice. There are also some benches and picnic tables scattered around the park.
In the center of Bega Park is a little map of the world. In North America is Littleton, Colorado marked with a star. In Australia, there is a star with Bega, Australia. Next to this is a sign that says Littleton, Colorado is a “sister city” with Bega, Australia. There are also trash cans and recycling bins here, so don't litter!
You can walk across Bega Street to the east and watch the trains roll by if you or your kids are into that. Unfortunately, the trains are loud and pretty annoying at times.
The main reason why this park is popular is because it is in downtown Littleton. It makes it convenient for people visiting, or for employees on their lunch break. It’s also a great place to walk your dog!
There is often music, shows, art, yoga, or other events going on here.
Bowles Grove Park
Bowles Grove Park is less than a mile west of Bega Park. It has a fishing pond with multiple fish species including crappie, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and more. There is also a good baseball field and 2 multipurpose fields in the 20-acre park.
If you’re looking for a playground, you’ll have to search somewhere else. Gallup Park has one, which is less than a mile southeast (yes, there are a lot of parks in Littleton and Arapahoe County).
