Everything About Celebration Park - Moreno Valley, California

Updated: Jun 3

Celebration Park is an exciting park in Moreno Valley, California. The 8-acre park has a large playground, a water park, a huge gazebo, a basketball court, and a green space. Follow along as we talk about all of these things and more!

The video above by Jessica Molletti shows how much fun kids can have at the water park!

There is a parking lot along Morgan Avenue with 17 spots and a handicapped spot. There are dozens more spaces (street parking) along Morgan Avenue and John F Kennedy Drive. If all of these places are full, you can always park in the neighborhood.

The gazebo in Celebration Park is the biggest one I have ever seen (even bigger than the one in La Sierra Park). It has 17 tables, 2 very large barbecues, trash cans, and recycling bins. People will have graduation parties, birthday parties, events, and so many other things here. There are also two smaller gazebos right next to the large one. They both have a grill (the regular size), two picnic tables, a water fountain, and trash cans.

If you are interested in reserving these gazebos, the large one is Picnic Shelter #51. The smaller ones are Picnic Shelter #52 and Picnic Shelter #53. #51 costs $173.20 a day, and #52 and #53 both cost $43.30 a day.

Who doesn’t love water parks? The water park, also known as a splash pad, has small buckets that drop water, water sprayers, and some rings that spray water at you from every direction. Your kids can come here after they play at the playground! Just make sure that they don’t slip - lots of people have said that the ground is slippery. Another splash pad in Moreno Valley is located at Bethune Park.

The green space is past the water park, playground, and gazebos. It isn’t the best grass in Moreno Valley, but it is good enough to play games like soccer or football.

The basketball court (which is next to the parking lot), is half of the regular size. It has one hoop, a free-throw line, and a three-point line. There is a light that will shine up the court when it’s dark outside. Sycamore Highlands Park has 2 hoops instead of one. I recommend playing in the morning or evening as the court can get very hot.

0.55 miles of walking trails are inside Celebration Park, with another 0.32 miles on the borders. There are a few picnic tables (some with shade) and lots of lights along this path. Furthermore, each set of tables has a grill where you can cook a meal.

Saturday and Sunday are definitely the busiest days in Celebration Park; Monday through Friday are the best days to go. As for the specific hours, 2 PM or 3 PM are the most active times and 10 AM or 5 PM (the weekday evenings are somewhat empty) are the best times to go.

Lynette Ibarra says that Celebration Park is a “Great place for the kids and family. They have a large water feature the size of a basketball court. And a playground to match. They have several shelters with picnic tables and a basketball court. The restrooms are open. An ice cream truck parks in the front of the park. They also have people giving out free lunch to everyone.”

The playground has lots of benches to watch your kids from. There is also some shade from palm trees, but it’s not great. As for the surface of the playground, it is made of turf. This is the best type because injuries are very unlikely; the only downside is that it can get very hot in the summer heat. Although the park closes at 6 p.m., there are lights at the playground.

Celebration Park Playground has a swirly slide, numerous other slides, monkey bars, bridges, ladders, games (like tic-tac-toe), stairs, and so much more. Trust me, it’s so much better than words can describe. Shadow Mountain Park is even better because there are two long zip lines! It became an instant hit in Moreno Valley.

There are two regular swings and two bucket swings for younger children. They will most likely be occupied because this is such a popular park.
