Footbridge Park is a modest park in Littleton, Colorado. Located at Mile 20 of the High Line Canal Trail, it is a calm area surrounded by trees and a long footbridge that crosses over High Line Canal - that’s why it’s called Footbridge Park. Although the park is only 0.4 acres, it’s one of the best small parks in Littleton and Arapahoe County.
Amanda Castro's video shows some of the 71 miles of the High Line Canal!
There are two places to park. One is the parking lot at Heritage High School with hundreds of spaces; it’s off of West Geddes Avenue. Just cross the street and you’re at the park!
The other place to park is in a neighborhood on West Hinsdale Drive. There may not be very many spaces since a lot of people live there, so I recommend the parking lot at the high school.
In the park, there is a bench partially inside the shade, and a trash can, too. There’s also a High Line Canal Trail map. This trail is very popular with everyone, ranging from kids to dog walkers to cyclists. It’s one of the most beautiful places in Arapahoe County.
In the springtime, the area blossoms with so many flowers. In the fall, the colors are eye-catching.
The footbridge connects the neighborhood to the park. It’s 60 or 70 feet long and crosses the High Line Canal. There may be very little water (or no water) flowing in this stream, but that doesn’t make the trip not worth it.
If you take the trail to the west, you’ll pass Southbridge Park, Writers Vista Park, and McLellan Reservoir. I have written blogs about each of these locations. Check them out!
If you take the trail to the east, you’ll go through the large Horseshoe Park.
Ashbaugh Park and Carbone Park are only a few blocks away, so I recommend that!
Chelsey Smith's review says, "It's a lovely trail that blossoms in the springtime and a joy of orange in the fall. You can pull kids on sleds next to the High Line Canal during the winter. So beautiful no matter what the weather."
