Kenyon Way Park is a unique 8-acre park in Rancho Cucamonga, California. It has 2 playgrounds, 2 basketball courts, a baseball diamond, picnic tables, and a very large green space. Everything will be covered in this blog.
You can see in Jessica Monroe's video that the steep slide on the larger playground is a lot of fun for kids!
There is a parking lot off of Kenyon Way with 25 spaces plus 1 handicapped space. This is the best place to park for everything except the baseball field. There is street parking on Salerno Place that puts you right next to the ballfield (and close to the grass field). It will have a dozen or two spaces for cars.
The 2 basketball courts are next to the parking lot. Each court is a half-circle with painted lines so that you can play a game with your friends. There are also some benches near the court; no trees provide shade, unfortunately.
Next is the baseball field. There are benches for the players, but no shade covers. Some trees will provide some shade for both the players and the parents. Parents and spectators will need to bring their own chairs because there are no bleachers. There is also no outfield fence, so this field is meant for younger players.
Some sidewalks go all around Kenyon Way Park - 0.61 miles of them. It’s a great park to take a stroll. A few picnic tables, barbecue grills, and benches are in the park. Most of them won’t have shade.
The bathroom is close to the parking lot, so there is no need to worry there. I’ve noticed that half of the parks in Rancho Cucamonga and Riverside do not have restrooms. Looking at the recent reviews, though, the porta potty is in atrocious condition if the bathroom is closed.
The grass field is a few acres in total. You can play almost any sport here, and soccer is frequently played here. Go have some fun!
You can see Cucamonga Peak and Ontario Peak in the San Gabriel Mountain range from the park. There’s a park nearby called Mountain View Park that gives the same view. It’s amazing in the winter - if there’s even snow with our constant droughts.
Kenyon Way Park Playground
Kenyon Way Park Playground has both sand and rubber instead of those terrible wood chips. There’s a lot of shade at the playground, too!
The younger and smaller playground has 3 regular slides, 1 swirly slide, a bridge, spring riders, games, and a table.
The bigger playground has 5 slides, stairs, a rock climbing wall, and more.
There are 2 classic swings and 2 bucket swings for toddlers.
This playground is particularly popular because of the tall slides it has. You don’t see very many of them in the Inland Empire.
